Role mission:
We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join our team. This role will focus on functional requirements gathering, ensuring that our products and services meet both business objectives and the requests of our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders, product managers, and developers to elicit, analyse, and document functional requirements from customers requests.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the bridge between business teams and technical teams, translating high-level business needs into detailed functional specifications.
- Workshops & Interviews: Conduct workshops, interviews, and brainstorming sessions with stakeholders/customers to gather comprehensive functional requirements and use cases.
- Functional Specifications: Develop clear, concise, and detailed functional specification documents that outline the business requirements, process flows, and system behaviour.
- Business Process Mapping: Analyse and document current and future state business processes, identifying opportunities for improvements or automation within the SaaS platform.
- Collaboration with Development Teams: Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure that functional requirements are well-understood and implemented effectively.
- User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Define and write user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile environment, ensuring that user needs are translated into actionable development tasks.
- Requirements Validation: Validate and prioritize requirements based on business goals, technical feasibility, and customer impact. Conduct reviews to ensure all requirements are accurately captured.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working as a Business Analyst in a SaaS product environment.
- Detail-Oriented, someone who ensures accuracy in gathering, specifying and documenting requirements that reflect both business strategy and customer requests.
- Product knowledge, support the maintenance of the product backlog, continually ensuring feature we have well-defined and prioritised functional requirements for development.
- Communication, being able to bridge the gap between key internal stakeholders (Customer, Sales, Leadership teams) and then technical teams.
- Problem-Solving, being able to identify and address inefficiencies within existing product features or customer product enhancement requests.
- Collaboration, ability to work with members of the product team, including product management, design, engineering, and architecture to refine requirements based on customer feedback and key objectives.
- Agile Methodologies, familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience in writing user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
- Tools, familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or similar project management and documentation tools. Experience with diagramming tools like Visio or Lucidchart for process mapping is also advantageous.
- Experience working with customers in the financial services sector very useful.
